ABOUT LINDY
Lindy Privett has been a police officer since January 1986. He is currently a sergeant with the Plano Police Department. He has served as a training officer and detective as well as a D.A.R.E.® (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Officer. Sergeant Privett is the supervisor over the Crime Prevention Unit, which serves as a centralized source of assistance, helping families, homes, and businesses be more secure.
Privett has been training in martial arts since 1983. He has trained in several styles including Aikido, JuJitsu and Youn Wha Ryu (a Korean Karate Style). He has competed in numerous tournaments and has won State and World Championships, including the 2000 World Police Olympics – Black Belt Weapons Division (Master Division) Gold Medal. In 2004 he won the Texas Police Olympics – Black Belt Weapons and Kumite Division (Master Division) Gold Medals. Lindy received his Associate of Arts degree from Cooke County College and his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice from University of North Texas.
Sergeant Privett believes in the importance of kids finding positive activities in which to be involved so it will keep them away from negative choices and activities.
